Even though the majority of students are off for the summer, Loyalist College is getting set to host a group of youngsters interested in skilled trades.
This week, the school, in partnership with Skills Ontario, is welcoming grade 7, 8 and 9 students, with interest in trades and technology.
They’ll complete projects in construction, manufacturing, transportation, service and technology sectors.
College faculty and local professionals from welding, electrical, woodworking, biosciences, automotive and machining are overseeing the work.
The students will also get to hear about financial aid, for those interested in taking a trades program at the college.
