Investing in Knowledge

For 45 years, Loyalist College has been committed to providing high quality training and education to the people of the Quinte region and beyond. That commitment continues with the most recent campus development in the Sustainable Skills, Technology and Life Sciences Centre, which opened officially on June 20, 2011.

The Skills Centre is more than just a beautiful new state-of-the-art facility – it proudly proclaims the College’s commitment to the trades, technology and science. It shines a spotlight on the promising new world of bioscience, embraces environmentally friendly technologies, prepares our students for tomorrow’s jobs, and gives them the ability to adapt and learn throughout their careers.

The Skills Centre project received federal and provincial funding totalling over $16 million through the Knowledge Infrastructure Program and Ontario’s 2009 budget.

Through the expansion and enhancement of existing programs and the addition of new programs, the Skills Centre strengthens Loyalist’s ability to provide the highly skilled workforce that is essential to the economic growth and development of our region. The College can accommodate additional students in the new Skills Centre – students who are thrilled that the investment in this facility means they are receiving the kind of training and education that they can apply immediately upon graduation.
