Loyalist College is located in "The Friendly City" of Belleville, Ontario, along the alluring shores of the Bay of Quinte. Best known for its historic architecture, Belleville proudly provides urban amenities in a safe, small town environment. In fact, the Quinte area was named the Best Place to Live in Ontario by the Ontario Social Development Council (November 1998), and continues to strive for that distinction.
Loyalist's picturesque campus is situated on 200 acres with a 2 km walking trail neighbouring a spacious conservation property. With eastern Ontario's moderate climate, the Quinte area offers popular outdoor activities year-round. Summertime sports include sailing, swimming, scuba diving, golfing, cycling and hiking, and many popular winter activities such as skating, skiing, hockey and curling are also enthusiastically enjoyed.
Whether you like cycling or shopping, first class restaurants or pizza delivery, Belleville has something for everyone, including a thriving cultural scene showcasing mainstream and alternative films, community theatre, numerous art exhibitions and the prestigious Quinte Ballet School. Trains and buses connect Belleville to nearby Toronto, Kingston, Ottawa, Montreal and beyond. Bus stops on campus provide convenient bus service to both Belleville and Trenton, or consider calling a taxi, or renting a car to explore neighbouring communities in this charming eastern Ontario landscape.
