The School of Continuing Education at Loyalist College has created a learning lab environment with all the software and hardware you need to complete courses towards a number of select certificate programs. Semester intakes allow you to start in September, January or May - and some programs even have a monthly intake option. E-Lab offers courses on a continual intake basis. All of these programs can be completed within one year.

Sr. – REDUCED FEES FOR SENIOR CITIZENS:
If you are 60 years of age or over, the tuition fee for most courses is $2.18 per hour plus laboratory cost, campus service fee, G.S.T., if applicable. Students must identify themselves as seniors at the time of registration to qualify for the reduced rates.

Some courses have in-person exams which can be completed at Loyalist College Bancroft Campus. Alternate arrangements are available.

Financial Assistance
Available from sources including Ontario Special Bursary, Part-time Student Loan and/or Canada Study Grant, First Nations Education Departments, and Skills Canada. Please call to find out if you qualify.
Refund Policy
Part-time post-secondary programs at the Bancroft policy: A full refund will be issued (minus the administration fee of $50.00) for students who withdraw 30 calendar days from the start of the program.
Mature Student
Applicants who are 19 years of age as of the first day of classes in the year of admission, and who do not have OSSD or OSSGD standing, are considered as mature applicants. Such applicants must complete the required subjects for admission. If they lack the required subjects, they may be requested to write a diagnostic test. Mature applicants are treated on an individual basis.

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT - Certificate
In conjunction with the Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario (HRPAO), and CCHRA (Canadian Council of Human Resource Associations), Loyalist College is pleased to offer students the opportunity to complete the academic requirements towards achieving the CHRP designation. Those members who are now working on their CHRP and do not have a degree, if registered with HRPAO, will have from September 2007 to December 2010 to complete their courses of study under the current system, at community colleges.
Upon completion of the academic component, Loyalist College will confer a Certificate in Human Resource Management upon request.
Completing the nine testable subjects is an integral step toward writing the National Exam, and in fulfilling the academic requirements for the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation. The curriculum for the educational component offers the core competencies demanded of Human Resources Practitioners who want to effectively contribute to their work place. Skilled administrative support is vital for success in today’s office environment. This program of study focuses on five major areas of study: oral and written communication skills, problem solving skills, computer application skills, accounting ability, and office procedures/production. HOME INSPECTION
This program provides an opportunity to enter an exciting and growing profession. Home inspection is a consulting service that helps homebuyers make informed decisions about their prospective new home.
Curriculum has been thoughtfully organized into subjects that describe the materials used in the construction of each house system and how they are assembled. Content covers what may go wrong as well as the causes and the implications of problems that result.
The program gives students clear direction concerning what to look for during an inspection: signs of non-performance due to old age, deferred maintenance, weather damage, and poor workmanship. It is this aspect of the program that distinguishes it from the knowledge of contractors or other building professionals.

THis new distance education certificate program will provide those working or volunteering i a corrections program as well as graduates holding a college diploma i Social Service Worker or Law and Security Administration programs with the academic base to pursue new career directions in the corrections field.
