Refund Policy
Part-time post-secondary programs at the Bancroft policy: A full refund with a $20 Admin fee per course up to a maximum of $100.00, providing the request to withdraw is made prior to the begining of the second day of class. Refunds will be made by cheque and will take approximately 4-6 weeks to process.
Mature Student
Applicants who are 19 years of age as of the first day of classes in the year of admission, and who do not have OSSD or OSSGD standing, are considered as mature applicants. Such applicants must complete the required subjects for admission. If they lack the required subjects, they may be requested to write a diagnostic test. Mature applicants are treated on an individual basis.

Our Educational Assistant program is delivered o a part-time basis. It is, an adult centred, individualized and interdisciplinary program. The purpose of this program is to provide a specialty knowledge and skills program i the areas of teaching and learning, special education, augmentative communication, as well as educational ad adaptive technology. This program will provide you with the opportunity to gai n skills in customer service and hospitality that will prove valuable on the job. All courses in this program reflect the value of customer service in an every day workplace environment.
With this program operating on a workplace model, vital hands-on experience is built into the curriculum. In addition to the marks you receive for each course, attendance, punctuality, participation and teamwork are all a part of your evaluation. The Bancroft Campus of Loyalist College is pleased to offer the Paramedic Diploma Program. Successful completion of this program entitles students to write the provincial (A-EMCA) Advanced Emergency Medical Care Attendant exam provided by the Ministry of Health.
Delivery and Content:
The program is offered under the School of Continuing Education on a part-time basis. Applications are made through OCAS (Ontario College Application Services) using program code PMED. Students who start in August of one year will graduate in June two years later. The A-EMCA (Advanced Emergency Medical Care Attendant) exam is offered by the Ministry of Health mid June. All classes are held at the Bancroft Campus Friday evenings, Saturdays & or Sundays (2 to 6 days per month). Schedules are made in advance by semester.
The program commences in August. The clinical portion of the program in each year is held at Peterborough Civic Hospital and Ajax Picking Hospital. The Ambulance Field Experience component will be completed at the site of the service that has been arranged between yourself and the clinical coordinator. Each student will be required to wear a all Loyalist College identification / uniforms, during Hospital Clinical and Ambulance Field Experiences. A student helmet, approved by the Ministry of Health, along with all PPE is required for the Ambulance Field Experience. These items will be distributed to students prior to the start date of Ambulance Field Experience.
The College Faculty reserves the right to scheduling as required. Scheduling changes may be required throughout the program at the Co-ordinator's discretion.
Admission Requirements:
1. Ontario Secondary School Diploma (minimum of 30 credits) or an Ontario School Graduation Diploma (minimum of 27 credits) at a general or advanced level or equivalent. Grade 11 or 12 biology is required. Equivalency exam can be completed in Bancroft or by your local Community College. Canadian Adult Achievement Test (CAAT) is accepted. Please provide transcripts.
2. A copy of current and valid CPR Level 'C' and First Aid certificates.
3. A criminal record check at the time of application.
4. A detailed Resume of practical experience, if applicable. IE: applied experience and associated qualifications.
5. Students enrolled in our program must be inoculated with Hepatitis B. Tetanus, Polio & Diphtheria, vaccinations must also be current (within the last 10 years). Also proof of immunization against flu & have had chicken pox / immunization against the same.
6. Applicants will be required to complete and receive a fair rating on a Canadian Physical Activity, Fitness and Leisure Assessment (CPAFLA) test.
7. Applicants will be required to submit a valid class "G" Driver's License with photo.

Part-Time Pracitical Nursing Information Session

Three years - Intense Mode Delivery
Starting September 22, 2008
Loyalist College, Bancroft Campus is working in partnership with FNTI, to bring Practical Nursing with an intense mode of delivery format, to First Nations communities. It is intended to aid First Nation communities to develop, deliver and sustain health care services. During this intensive program, students receive a combination of classroom theory, lab work and clinical practice; learn to assess client health throughout the lifespan; and plan implement and evaluate appropriate nursing care.
