A message from President and CEO Maureen Piercy:
Loyalist’s Remembrance Day Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, November 11th in Alumni Hall. The ceremony will begin at 10:50 a.m. and is expected to conclude at approximately 11:30 a.m.
It is important to recognize the commitment made by our service men and women and their families. They, along with past generations of Veterans, have made many sacrifices in the name of peace and freedom.
Many members of the College Community will participate in the ceremony, as will local author Mary Thomas, whose journalism relates to our Canadian Forces, and representatives from 8 Air Communication and Control Squadron at CFB 8 Wing Trenton – the unit that I represented in my role as Honorary Colonel.
For staff and students in our College Community who are serving, or who have served, in the Canadian Armed Forces, it would be our privilege to have veterans or currently-serving Canadian Forces members recognized as part of our Remembrance Day ceremony by joining me, along with guests and visiting military personnel, at the front of Alumni Hall for Tuesday's ceremony. If you wish to be recognized, please contact my assistant, Elaine Wilkinson at wilkinso@loyalistc.on.ca.
All staff and students are encouraged to attend our ceremony.
Thank you,
Maureen Piercy
