Loyalist College is pleased to invite members of the public to attend the 1st Annual Quinte Iron Accountant Competition and Accounting Profession Expo on Tuesday, March 5. Organized by Loyalist Accounting students, the competition between teams from area high schools enables aspiring business students to showcase their knowledge and skills.
The teams will be competing using an accounting simulation program called MikesBikes. Provided by Smartsims Business Simulations, the program tests students’ analytical skills by having them run a mock corporation. With the help of sponsorship from Welch LLP, Wilkinson & Company LLP and Loyalist College, the competition will reward the winning team with BlackBerry PlayBooks and the title of ‘Quinte Iron Accountant 2013.’
The Accounting Profession Expo will take place alongside the competition. The Expo will feature representatives from local businesses who will be promoting the accounting field and talking with aspiring accountants about career options.
