INSTALLATION CEREMONY OF LOYALIST COLLEGE PRESIDENT PLANNED FOR APRIL 21, 2017

Belleville, Ontario, April 11, 2017 – The Board of Governors of Loyalist College has announced that an Installation Ceremony for Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan as President of the College will be held on Friday, April 21. Members of the community are invited to attend the Ceremony, which will take place at 2 pm in the Dining Hall of the Kente Building. 

Board Chair June Hagerman has also announced that Sheldon Levy, the Deputy Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Development, will be the guest speaker at the Ceremony. “We are delighted that Deputy Minister Sheldon Levy will join us for this special occasion,” she said. “He has been recognized for championing an entrepreneurial education model achieving global status with the Ryerson Digital Media Zone in Toronto, and an international network including partnership start-up incubators in India and South Africa. We look forward to his thoughts about the role of post-secondary education in stimulating economic growth.”

The Deputy Minister’s responsibilities encompass a significant portfolio that supports Ontario’s economy. Under his leadership, the Ministry delivers employment and training programs that meet the changing needs of the province’s labour market, and a high-quality, accessible post-secondary education system that is globally competitive.  The work of this Ministry drives the innovation that is vital to Ontario’s prosperity.
