Belleville, Ontario, June 15, 2015 – Loyalist College is pleased to announce that The Parrott Centre has launched the first two collections in the Colleges eBook Consortium Project, a joint endeavour of 22 Ontario Colleges.
The EBSCO Academic eBooks and College Complete eBooks (ProQuest/ebary) collections offer more than 168,000 titles, including 8,000 recently published titles (2013/2014), and 2,000 French language titles. The Loyalist College community has unlimited access to all titles, regardless of the number of concurrent users.
Going forward, additional collections of eBooks will be added to the core collection and the product mix may change based on evolving user needs and product availability.
The Colleges eBook Consortium Project is an initiative of the Ontario Colleges’ Heads, Libraries and Learning Resources (HLLR) and is managed by Ontario Colleges Library Services (OCLS).
In other news, the Library recently subscribed to the Ovid Nursing Collection. The Ovid package contains Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW) Nursing and Health Professions Premier Journals (89 full-text nursing journals), Evidence Based Medicine Reviews (EBMR), MEDLINE, Pre-MEDLINE and Healthstar.
