Career Opportunities
Students enroll in the L.B.S. program for a variety of reasons, including:
- developing the skills to better help children with homework
- paving the way toward high school equivalency and/or post-secondary education
- making the most of their current jobs
- gaining more confidence in their everyday lives
- setting new personal and career goals
Program Description
Students may attend full- or part-time. Program topics are tailored to each student’s needs, and can include:
- academic upgrading
- training readiness
- career and personal development
- job-search skills
Students can improve their skills in:
- reading
- writing
- spelling
- grammar
- computers
- mathematics
- science
Levels 1 though 5 of L.B.S. are offered through the Bancroft campus, and Levels 3 through 5 through Belleville. Then, if desired, students can move on to higher-level secondary school classes. Friendly staff will help students identify which level is best for them.

Approximate Cost
Tuition is free for all students. This program is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Students may receive assistance with child care and transportation costs.
Admission Requirements
Anyone 18 years of age or older can apply.
