Two-Year Ontario College Diploma
Graduates of the program can take their knowledge and experience and pursue job opportunities in a variety of companies within the advertising and marketing communications industry—a sector which is very large and continues to expand. They may work in large or small advertising and marketing communications agencies, or perhaps consider social media positions that now exist in a wide variety of companies.
Loyalist - Trent Journalism Program
Starting 2012-2013
Combining the best of college and university education, graduates will earn an Ontario college advanced diploma in Journalism (Online, Print and Broadcast) from Loyalist College, as well as a Trent joint-major honours (B.A. or B.Sc.) degree in Journalism and another discipline of their choice. Depending on the discipline, the program can be completed in four or five years of full-time study.

One-Year Ontario College Post-Graduate Certificate
This intensive post-graduate program is led by faculty with extensive industry experience. The first semester focuses on the development of key sector-specific skills and analytical tools. Students also gain in-demand communications skills – including the planning and implementation of social media. This provides the foundation for the second semester – a four-month internship, capstone project and development of a professional portfolio – all of which may open doors to future employment.
Food Science and Technology
Three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma
Option: One-Year Ontario College Certificate – Chemical Laboratory Assistant
The program delivers an integrated curriculum of science, safety and environmental management. Graduates will gain expertise in planning, implementing and verifying food safety enhancement programs, including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Graphic Design
Three-Year Ontario College Advanced Diploma
Loyalist’s curriculum is current and relevant. Our professors are highly-skilled, with extensive industry experience. Learning takes place in comfortable, bright labs and studios.
Each of the three years in the Graphic Design program at Loyalist builds on previous learning – with many courses working together so that theory learned in one course can be applied practically in another.
3D Video Production
One-Year Ontario College Post-Graduate Certificate
Loyalist’s post-graduate 3D Video Production program introduces students to the significant difference between shooting and editing in 2D and 3D. Students use state of the art 3D equipment to produce short format productions that will inform their professional practice. Building on skills learned at the undergraduate level, students refine techniques to demonstrate their employability in the content creation industry of today as well as tomorrow. In collaboration with industry professionals, students develop new techniques to meet the needs of 3D video production.
Graduates can find employment in television, web production, wireless production or a combination of all three. Combined with an undergraduate diploma and/or degree in traditional video, film or television production, the graduate of this post-diploma certificate will embody the flexibility required as the industry moves from 2D to 3D.

English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
One-Year Ontario College Certificate
English for Academic Purposes (EAP) benefits individuals who wish to improve their English language skills to an academic level that will enhance their success in post-secondary programs. The full-time, two-semester program provides a foundation in effective writing, reading, listening and speaking competency. Upon successful completion of the EAP certificate students can further their studies at Loyalist through advanced standing into the General Arts and Science diploma program (students will be awarded credit for Semester One of the two-year program) or transferring into another Loyalist College diploma program.
