Distance Education is an educational format where most of your learning occurs through an electronic classroom. Most of the work is done from home or at work on your computer, with instructional assistance within easy reach by e-mail.
How do I receive my course materials?
Most material is received through Canada Post.
Is Distance Education for me?
If you prefer a more flexible study schedule, live a distance from our campus locations or are unable to attend regular classes, these courses are for you. You can expect to spend 3-5 hours/week per course.
How do I learn?
Each course is designed to offer a wide variety of choice as to when and how you learn. Carefully designed activities, self-tests, and projects ensure there is plenty of opportunity to assess your own progress and to receive feedback and guidance from your instructor. Electronic conference areas give you the opportunity to discuss material with other students taking your course.
What courses are available?
Two of our programs offer courses via distance education, Developmental Service Worker and Early Childhood Education. For information about the Developmental Service Worker program, please contact Elaine Holtz (613-969-1913 x2214).For information about the Distance ECE program, please contact Janice Daley (613-969-1913 x2575).
