Post-Graduate Programs

My plan worked. I decided to build upon my Social Work degree with an International Support Worker certificate - the perfect combination. I gained practical hands-on experience at Loyalist and completed an internship with Companionship of Works Association in Kenya. I'm now finalizing the details of my next position. University plus college is the best decision I could have made. 

Here’s my plan. I have a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education Honours degree from Queen’s and now, as a student in Loyalist’s Public Relations program, I’m positioning myself to become a well-rounded professional. I’ll graduate with improved communication skills and the practical experience of an internship on my résumé.

My Plan Worked. I knew I needed more than my degree in the competitive field of international development. I saw the post-grad Public Relations program as an opportunity to gain hands-on skills and combine them with my university theory. At Loyalist I’ve gained the confidence to tell employers 'I can,' rather than, 'I think I can.' I could not be happier with my career.

The Sports and Entertainment Sales and Marketing post-grad program is exactly what member teams in the Ontario Hockey League need when looking for interns and new employees. It will prepare students for work in the Team and League Sports Industry and provides teams a direct route to students and graduates when looking to fill these positions. The Peterborough Petes will definitely be taking advantage of this one-of-a-kind program and its students.

Here's my plan. My internship in the post-grad Sports Journalism program is giving me work experience - great for my résumé along with my Psychology degree. The Loyalist faculty and advisory board members are active in the industry so I'm already building a network. I'm going to be a sports journalist - learning has never been this exciting.

While the 3D industry is still in its infancy, it continues to progress in leaps and bounds. Hollywood is looking to the north for creativity to produce 3D product and Loyalist College is on the cutting edge of this tremendous surge. Building on skills learned at the undergraduate level, the 3D Video Production students will refine the techniques of the content creation industry. They will have many opportunities in this exciting field.
