Counselling Services
College counsellors are available to all Loyalist College students free of charge. Counselling Services assist current and prospective students in the areas of career, educational and personal counselling. Counselling Services are voluntary, confidential, and easily arranged. The Centre offers many services and programs to assist the individual in self-evaluation, adjusting to the College environment, and exploring life opportunities. Our focus is your success. We strive to provide services that allow students to be comfortable and interact in an informal and confidential environment.

Career Counselling
Having doubts about which College program or career field to choose? The counsellors are ready to assist you in choosing the right program for you and to help in career exploration and planning. Many resources are available to help in planning for a career including vocational testing.
Educational Counselling
The Counselling Centre has pertinent information about every program at Loyalist College. The counsellors are ready to assist you in the admission procedures and answer questions about concerns and doubts you may have regarding your educational plans. Calendars from many colleges and universities are available in our Career Library.
Personal and Social Counselling
The counsellors are professionally trained to help students with personal or social problems. The counsellors listen to and help students work through their problems regardless of how small or large the student might think the problem is. All personal information is kept strictly confidential. Our focus is on problem-solving and decision making.

The Peer Tutoring Program
The Peer Tutoring Program is just one of the many valuable and free services offered at Loyalist College. Tutoring involves meeting individually or in a small group with a Student Tutor (usually a second or third year student). Over the past several years thousands of Loyalist students have received assistance to obtain better grades and hundreds of students have been provided with part-time employment as tutors.
