Information Sheet for Applicants
The Centre for Early Childhood Education has been established as an on-campus training centre or "lab school" for the post-secondary Early Childhood Education program. It provides high quality childcare in specially designed environments for children between 16 months and 5 years of age. The Centre is licensed by the Ministry of Community and Social Services.
The Centre offers a limited number of child care spaces. A total of 49 children (15 Toddlers, 24 Pre-schoolers, and 10 Kinders) can be accommodated on a full-time or part-time basis. As a "workplace" childcare centre priorities will be given to children of students and employees, however, community members are also welcome! The Centre will provide care Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 5.15 p.m. from the beginning of September to the end of June and will be closed for statutory holidays and one week at Christmas.
Fee information is available upon request.
Subsidies from local and neighbouring municipalities are available to families eligible for subsidized care. Enrolment decisions will be made as quickly as possible following your request for care, and decisions by the appropriate municipality if fee subsidies are involved. The limited number of available spaces may also result in a waiting list of applicants. This application to the waiting list does not guarantee a child care space.
For further information about enrolling your child in this high quality child care centre or to request to be placed on our waiting list, please call 969-1913 extension 2459 and speak with Mary Sutherland.
