ENGLISH SERVICES FOR ESL LEARNERS
New Program - September, 2011 - English for Academic Purposes:
Loyalist College is pleased to announce that we will be offering English for Academic Purposes (EAP) starting in September, 2011. This will be a full time, two term program and successful applicants will receive a one year Ontario College certificate. EAP is designed for individuals for whom English is a second or additional language. This program will improve English language skills with emphasis placed on effective writing, reading, listening and speaking comprehension. The curriculum focuses on formal English development for academic and professional purposes as well as for functional everyday usage. Students can apply directly to the International Centre at Loyalist College by completing the attached application. Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a conditional offer to a program for September, 2012. Tuition fees will be announced in the spring of 2011. The International Centre offers drop-in English assistance classes for students whose first language is not English.
Pronunciation Classes
Free to registered full-time Loyalist students - practice your pronunciation skills!
ESL Services
All registered Loyalist College students may access other ESL services through the International Centre in Room 3H14. Please drop by the Centre to enquire about ESL note-taking, alternative testing and English Mentors to assist with improving your language skills.
The International Centre also has a large selection of books and CDs to assist ESL learners improve their language skills.
