Agent Expectations

Loyalist College is committed to offering superior educational experiences for our international students.  We work closely with recruitment agents to ensure students are prepared for their studies in Canada.  We expect high standards of business practice from our agents, along with accurate and honest customer service to the students.  We are passionate to help students fulfill their goals and expect the same from our agents.

As a Loyalist Recruitment Agent, you are expected to fulfill the following roles:
• Promote Loyalist College to potential students and counsel them appropriately with regards to Loyalist, our programs and services.
• Review and validate academic credentials and pre-screen potential applicants to ensure their eligibility to enter Canada on a study permit
• Assist students in the application process to Loyalist College
• Assist students in their preparations for arrival in Canada
• Represent Loyalist College in a professional and trustworthy manner

Once approved, you will receive an Agent Recruitment Guide and Certificate of Representation.

What is the history of Loyalist College?

• Founded in 1967
• a publicly-funded, post-secondary institution
• one of 24 colleges of applied arts and technology in the Ontario college system
• All of our diploma, post-diploma, certificate and degree programs meet the high educational standards required by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities within the Government of Ontario and are recognized around the world

Semester Structure

• Most programs have a September start date only
• some programs offer both a September and January start date for first semester
•  Typically, classes start each September the Tuesday after ‘Labour Day’ – usually the first Tuesday in September
• The January semester typically starts the first or second Monday of the New Year
• Each semester is 15 weeks in duration with a break week at the mid-point. 
• Programs which start in January may continue into their second semester in the spring, usually starting in early May – start and end dates vary for each program within this semester.   Many programs offer a condensed, intensive semester during the spring.
