It’s been a long and eventful season for all four of our Lancer teams. There were records broken, expectations exceeded and awards won. Here is a recap of the four teams remaining in Semester 2.
They had a bit of a slow start, but by the Christmas break there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that the Lancer’s volleyball teams were a force to be reckoned with. From Kyle Donnan’s powerful swing that pushed him to the top of the leader board in OCAA to Mandi Buma’s record setting serves, it was a year of unforgettable moments for both teams. Unfortunately, all of this came to a halt after two devastating losses in one day.

First, the women’s team lost the crossover match to the Sheridan Bruins that would have led them to Provincials. Then after watching the girls struggle, the men’s team came up against the very strong Fanshawe Falcons and unfortunately came away with the same result. Kyle Donnan and Greg Gillespie were both recognized as first team league All Stars at the Ontario College Athletic Association Provincial Championships. |

Starting off with high hopes, the men’s basketball team faced a number of challenges over the course of the season. After picking up a couple late season wins, the team finished their season strong in Ottawa falling just short of the Algonquin Thunder 64-57. he women‘s basketball team knew there would be obstacles to overcome throughout their season, but that never stopped them from giving their all. Strong showings from veterans Dianne Bouder and Brittany Denneny helped push the team throughout their injury plagued season. Denneny fought her way to the top of the leader board for most total rebounds in the East Division.
