
Varsity athletes, coaches and athletic staff took part in the 4th Annual Terry Fox Walk at Loyalist College on October 1st. Funds raised will go towards the Terry Fox Cancer Foundation.

The Men's Rugby team improved to 2 - 0 in league play as they defeated the visiting George Brown Huskies 22 - 0 on September 30th. The Lancers were led by Scott Jackson who scored 12 points for the team. Chad Baerwinkle scored his third try of the season with Corey Black adding the other Lancer try.

Loyalist is tied for first place in the Division 2 loop with the St. Lawrence (K) Vikings. The Vikings will travel to Loyalist on Thursday October 2 for a 5:00 PM match. The game will be preceded by a women's match between the two schools at 3:30 PM. Both games will take place on the upper field.
In their first exhibition game of the 2008-09 season the Loyalist Lancers Lady basketball team got off to a good start by defeating Champlain Regional College by a score of 65 - 42. Despite a very slow start the Lancers went into the locker room with a 10 point lead. The second half saw the team shoot the ball much better and they quickly stretched their lead to 20 points. Some excellent team defense helped hold the visiting Cougars to just 21 points per half.

Next action for the girls will be on Oct 3-4 when they travel to Sault St. Marie to take part in the Algoma Invitational.
Wednesday, September 24, was a very busy day for the Loyalist Lancers. Six different teams saw action with five teams hitting the road. In the lone home game, the Men's Soccer team played an exhibition game against the Fleming Knights. Despite an excellent effort by the team they dropped a 1-0 decision to the Knights.

In Women's Soccer Jenna Crothers scored the only Lancer marker in a 2-1 loss to the Centennial Colts. The loss was the team's 6th straight as they fall to 0-6 in league play. |
The Men's Rugby team played their first league game of the year as they travelled to Fleming (Lindsay) to take on the Auks. Chad Baerwinkel had two tries as the Lancers walked away with a 38-5 victory. In exhibition Women's play the Lancers defeated Fleming (Lindsay) 17-0. Lancer tries were scored by Christine Richard and Katherine McNutt.
The Men's & Women's Volleyball teams played their first exhibition matches of the year against the Fleming Kinghts. The Women dropped a tough 3-2 decision while the Men tasted victory winning 3 games to 1.
