Services We Provide
The Health Centre is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Room 1H7 (closed Wednesdays from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.) Some of the services provided by the Health Centre include:
- Physician available two afternoons per week
- Referral to appropriate community resources
- Resource information
- Nursing care assessment
- Non-prescription drugs for minor illnesses
- Immunization and allergy injections
- Emergency medical care
- Counselling, treatment and info on personal or medical problems
- Pap tests
- Preventive health care
- Temporary sick bays
- Advice concerning Health Insurance
- Drug and Accident Insurance forms
The Health Centre is staffed by a full time registered nurse, a full time secretary with first aid training and a consulting physician who conducts weekly scheduled clinics at the Centre.

Accident Insurance:
Each full time student is enrolled in an accident insurance plan that helps cover those costs not covered by provincial health insurance. Also covered by this plan is 80% of the cost of prescription drugs. (Note: There are some exceptions.) For more information, contact the Health Centre.
Health Insurance:
The Ontario Ministry of Health provides Ontario residents with extensive coverage for most hospital and medical costs. Students who have not obtained an Ontario Health Card are urged to apply as soon as possible. Students who are not covered by this plan or by that of another province in Canada, excluding Quebec, are urged to obtain such insurance. Further information and application forms are available from the Health Centre.
