Calling for Nominations

At Loyalist College we like to celebrate our graduates' success and each year we ask our Alumni and Faculty to let us know who should be recognized for outstanding achievements in their field.

Premier's Awards

The Premier's Awards honour the important social and economic contribution, which college graduates make in Ontario and throughout the world. The Awards, launched in 1992 to mark the 25th anniversary of Ontario's colleges, are administered by Colleges Ontario.

There are six categories for nominations: Business, Creative Arts and Design, Community Services, Health and Sciences, Technology and Recent Graduate.

Alumni Association Distinction and Employer Awards

These awards were created to honour the contributions Loyalist College graduates and external Employers make in their respective communities and to Loyalist College.

The awards are presented annually at the Alumni Association Annual General Meeting, which will be held on November 23, 2012.

The Alumni Association is pleased to announce the creation of the Loyalist College Quinte and District Chapter.

The Chapter will be hosting its first Open House on Thursday, April 12th at the Belleville Club from

5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All alumni are welcome to attend.

Graduate Profile

On March 2nd and 3rd the first International Documentary Film Festival, sponsored by Loyalist College, was hosted in Belleville. Over 30 films were shown on four different screens throughout the community. Loyalist College Photojournalism graduate Michael Brethour's film "The Faces of Cancer" was among those films viewed.

It tells the real life stories of local people from the Hastings-Prince Edward community and surrounding area. Michael had filmed the documentary as part of the story behind the making of his fundraising calendar.

We would like to congratulate Michael for all of his achievements and courage in tackling such a personal issue.
