Broadcast Engineering Technology Graduates
Onward and Upward

In 2011 Loyalist College proudly recognized the first graduating class of the three-year Broadcast Engineering Technology (BRET) program. Since that time, two more classes have crossed the stage and found jobs on the other side. According to the 2012 KPI Survey, 100 percent of Loyalist BRET graduates are working. Industry demand enables these individuals to choose how and where they want to apply their specialized skills. Garner Millward and Trevor Armstrong graduated with the first cohort.

Throughout high school Garner Millward, a self-professed 'techie,' loved setting up audio and video gear. He volunteered on the technical crew for musical theatre and was involved with a large film production company in Calgary. Given his passion for broadcast, Garner went in search of a post-secondary program that could turn his interests into a career. When Garner graduated from the BRET program he was immediately hired as a Technical Support Specialist by Ross Video, an employer with whom he had completed a program internship.
