Loyalist College Signs Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Toronto Scarborough

Loyalist College and the University of Toronto Scarborough have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to facilitate a College to University Pathway and a Redirect Pathway with Loyalist College's General Arts & Science Ontario College diploma program.

"Our General Arts & Science students and graduates now have direct access to undergraduate Honours Bachelor of Arts degree studies at the University of Toronto, a leading Canadian university, through our new College to University and Redirect Pathways," said Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan, Loyalist College President & CEO. "As the cost of tuition and living is much less at Loyalist, students save money by starting in Belleville before they transfer to U of T Scarborough where they can complete their degree program in less time through advanced standing. Having both a diploma and a degree enhances graduates' employment prospects through a combination of practical, applied experiences and theoretical knowledge."

College to University Pathway

Qualified graduates of Loyalist's General Arts & Science diploma program have the opportunity to seamlessly continue their studies in an Honours Bachelor of Arts (HBA) degree program with advanced standing.

Redirect Pathway

The redirect pathway is an alternative route for students who did not meet the admission requirements for degree programs offered by the University of Toronto Scarborough as a direct entry applicant through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC), but who do meet the admission requirements of Loyalist's General Arts & Science diploma program. Through this mode, select qualifying direct entry applicants will receive a firm offer of admission to the diploma program. Upon program completion, students will have the option to seamlessly continue their studies in an HBA degree program with advanced standing credit at the University of Toronto Scarborough.
