Loyalist College Fast-Tracking PSW Training Thanks to Provincial Investment

With recent provincial funding going towards Personal Support Worker training, Loyalist College is using that money to speed up the training.

Anne Marie Vaughan, President at Loyalist College, says that they can now get new students in a placement within six months of starting the program. But there are more perks than just a speedy placement. Vaughan says that the funding will pay for textbooks and tuition. The curriculum is also available remotely, and it’s a very flexible program. She says while it’s fast-paced, there is a high demand and will allow someone to bridge to a new, rewarding career in a short time.

The college hopes to train 120 PSW’s in total and will offer 3 intake dates April 5th, May 10th, June 14th. Vaughan says this will be a direct investment into the area, with over 60% of grads stay in their home area. She says as a result of the new funding, interest in the program has skyrocketed, saying they have already filled their first intake. For more info on the program, click here.
