Changing your myLoyalist password

  • Login to any computer on campus, Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and select “Change a password”
  • OR Click “Change your password” from the myLoyalist login page. 

Be sure to set a secure password!

Blackboard is the Learning Management System



You have control and freedom to access your course content at any time that is convenient for you!  

This tool allows faculty to create courses, and add resources for students to access online.

  • PowerPoint,
  • Videos, Audio,
  • Animation,
  • and other Applications

Resources are created outside of Blackboard and added into Blackboard for students to access at any time, to enhance teaching and learning efforts.

Keep up to date with your course notes, assignments, tests, discussions and more.

Note: Access is granted one day prior to the start of your course.

The LinkedIn Learning app, provides access to hundreds of high-quality online video tutorials and courses, taught by respected professionals in their fields.

The Virtual Learning Environment app is a link to the uLearn platform which hosts virtual learning experiences for specific courses.

The environments are built around the common theme that we are providing students with a low-risk space to practice a skill or consolidate their learning. Students are motivated to achieve in these environments because there is no risk of failure, and they are guided (with the mechanisms that define serious games such as regular feedback (or error messaging), and quizzing).

Personal Network Access

As a student of Loyalist you have a personal M:Drive to house all of your information.

Whether working on the loyalist campus computers or your own personal computer, you need to ensure you save all documentation to your ‘M:Drive’ by using this app.

Save your work to your ‘M:Drive’ on one campus computer and access it on another campus!

Note: Turning a college computer off will remove documents not saved to the ‘M:Drive’.computer later on.

GNED electives give you the opportunity to explore a topic that interests you.

Review your program manual and the course information to determine which semesters you are required to take your GNED electives.

The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities mandate that students must;

  • choose a GNED outside the vocational outcomes of the program
  • require 3 GNED to successfully graduate

Online GNED registration portal available the first week of August.


International Students:

  • Fees MUST be paid in FULL prior to selecting any GNED elective.

We will no longer be offering the reading week recovery option.


If you are missing one or more GNED credits, you will need to request:

  • an off-cycle GNED registration by completing the GNED form found on the Student Forms page
  • the form will be available the second week of August
  • Off-cycle registration requests will be reviewed after the third week of August

NOTE: Additional fees may be charged to students who take General Education courses off cycle with their program map. Please see AOP 233 for further information.

The Emergency Response Plan app describes what to do in the case of an emergency.

The plan provides direction for emergency incidents where there is a potential for risk to life, property or the environment such as fire, explosions, utility failure, hazardous material spill, tornado, bomb threat, terrorist acts, etc.

It describes who is to be contacted, what actions are to be taken and who is responsible, and what information is to be recorded or communicated.

Familiarize yourself with the Emergency Sounds and review the evacuation and lock-down procedures.
