Your Orientation Top Ten – Don’t Miss These Highlights!

  1. Exciting Events from Loyalist Life: We have an action-packed week filled with exciting events! Don’t miss out on valuable opportunities to connect with others and create lifelong memories. Stay in the loop by following @loyalistlife! 

  2. Student ID Card: Unlock the student experience with your student ID Card! Find out how to get yours here.

  3. Get Involved with Student Government: Student Government offers a supportive environment to thrive and learn! Discover the positions available for our fall election and find out how you can start your leadership journey at Loyalist!
  4. Support the Lancers: Cheer on the Loyalist Lancers at the very first home game of the season on Friday, Sep 8! Don’t miss out on the action, check out all our teams’ schedules on the Loyalist Lancers website.

  5. Join a Club: Find your community! Join us at the Shark Tank Socials throughout the week to connect with our vibrant campus clubs and find the perfect one for you.

  6. Record Your Name with NameCoach on Canvas: Loyalist College has teamed up with NameCoach, a user-friendly app, to help others learn to pronounce your name. Simply visit the NameCoach tab in Canvas and share a recording of the correct pronunciation of your name.

  7. Complete the Indigenous Student Declaration Form: Stand proud and strengthen the Indigenous community at Loyalist! Identification is a voluntary and confidential online process by which you identify yourself as an Indigenous student. 

  8. Great Campus Adventure: Kick-start your college experience! This fun-filled scavenger hunt is designed to introduce you to the amazing student services awaiting you on campus.

  9. Friday Night Lights: Come out and support the Lancers while exploring delicious local cuisine from food trucks visiting the campus! Stick around until dusk for an unforgettable fireworks display.

  10. Free Hoodies: Score a FREE Loyalist Hoodie! Swing by our foam party Orientation Day (Sept. 5), from 12-4 pm at the baseball diamond, and grab your complimentary student hoodie.

Indigenous Services Orientation

On August 30 from 11 am – 2pm, join our Indigenous Services team in room 3H9 for an informal drop-in, where students and their families can attend a tour and get answers for all your burning questions. Get the latest on Loyalist’s bursary opportunities, Student Success services, campus facilities, on-campus employment, parking, public transit and more!

We can’t wait to meet you and introduce you to the amazing Residence Life experience! A smooth transition to living in Residence starts with move-in day. This year, our move-in weekend will take place  September 3  4, and Residence Orientation will take place on September 5. Check out a detailed schedule below!

Fall 2023 Orientation Schedule

Orientation day is your chance to meet your classmates for the first time, get to know campus and have some fun! 

  • 8 am – 5 pm: Welcome Booth (Entrance)
  • 9 am – 10am: Official Welcome (Soccer Field)
  • 10 am – 12 pm Academic Orientation (Assigned) 
  • 12 pm – 4 pm: Lunch & Foam Party (Baseball Diamond)
  • Doors open 9 pm: Glow Party (Shark Tank Pub)
