The Canadian Federation of University Women – Belleville and District presented a $30,000 donation to The Loyalist College Foundation at its meeting on Thursday, January 17, 2008. On hand for the presentation were (left to right) Susan Walker, CFUW Vice-President Scholarships; Margaret Briscoe, CFUW President – Belleville and District; June Surgey, Chair, The Loyalist College Foundation; Fay Garand, CFUW Treasurer; and Maureen Piercy, President of Loyalist College. The funds will be matched by the provincial government as part of the Ontario Trust for Student Support program, providing a total endowment of $60,000 for student awards throughout the future.
Congratulations to LeeAnna Villeneuve from Belleville who is currently registered in the Social Service Worker program at Loyalist College. LeeAnna was presented with the Canadian Federation of University Women Scholarship in memory of Margaret Hoddinott at the Club’s meeting on January 17, 2008.
