The Spring/Summer 2009 FOCUS course calendar will be distributed to area homes on the March 27th weekend. FOCUS presents a wide range of learning opportunities available through Continuing Education at Loyalist College with over 1,000 part-time, evening and distance education courses and programs, as well as a number of shorter workshops. They are being offered at the College’s main campus and at seven other locations throughout the Quinte area. Spring and summer semester courses have ongoing starts from April to July. On-line courses begin on May 8th.

Trudie Lake, Continuing Education Manager at Loyalist, explains that over 45 new courses will be offered this spring, including: Solar and Wind Living which will teach you how to live with solar and wind as your complete power source; Paper Kiln Workshop — a full day for experienced ceramic students; and, Focus on U where an image consultant will redefine your look without compromising your style. “Students can also learn about special event decorating and florals,” she added, “or enroll in the new Developmental Service Worker Apprenticeship program. Loyalist is the only Ontario college that offers this program completely through distance education. These are just a few of the exciting courses in the new FOCUS.”
