QuintEssential Credit Union Establishes Endowment to Support Loyalist College Students
Members of the QuintEssential Credit Union have established an endowment fund to support students at Loyalist College, with a donation of $20,000. The endowment will be administered by The Loyalist College Foundation and will be matched by the provincial government through the Ontario Trust for Student Support (OTSS) program.
QuintEssential President & CEO Ron Harrison commented that, “This donation is an important part of our commitment to provide ongoing support to young people of our community. QuintEssential Credit Union is a cooperative financial institution, owned and controlled by community members who use our services. We believe in the ethical values of honesty, openness, social responsibility and caring for others.”
“We are pleased to provide this support for students at Loyalist – our community college. It is our sincere goal to assist each of our members in achieving personal financial success, and we know how important post-secondary education is to the success of people in this community,” Ron Harrison said.
Loyalist College Board of Governors Chair Bob Cottrell joined Foundation Chair June Surgey and College President Maureen Piercy in thanking the members of QuintEssential Credit Union for their generosity. “This is a remarkable gift,” he said. “I know it will provide important encouragement and support for deserving recipients of the QuintEssential awards in the years to come. Thank you for this expression of support for our students.” Foundation Chair June Surgey added her thanks on behalf of the Foundation Board. “The endowment fund is growing in importance thanks to the very impressive support of our community and organizations such as QuintEssential.
