Loyalist College Alumni Holiday Sale and Auction – November 19 & 20

November 16, 2007

The Loyalist College Alumni Association is hosting their annual Alumni Holiday Sale and Auction on Monday, November 19 and Tuesday, November 20, 2007.  The event, in the Loyalist College Cafeteria, will run from 9 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. on November 19th, and from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on November 20th.

The sale provides one-stop holiday shopping.  Items available include: toys, books, crafts, electronics, games, and many gift items. The Alumni Holiday Sale also features a Holiday Shopping Spree 50/50 draw and a live auction, which will take place on Tuesday, November 20 at 12 noon.  Join in on the excitement by bidding on one of our many prize packages. Thanks to the generosity of Loyalist students, staff and many local businesses, we have been able to create gift packages for everyone in the family.  Two packages that will be on the auction block on Tuesday include:

Family Fun Package: Four one-hour English riding lessons at Tanglewood Farm & Equestrian Centre; a family pass (two adult tickets and two children’s tickets) to the opening night performance of Goldilocks and the Three Bears at the Stirling Festival Theatre; and a gift certificate for Montana’s.

Pampered Pooch & You Package:  Your pooch will enjoy a full day of pampering at the Hastings Veterinary Hospital in Stirling, including a morning in Doggy Daycare, a bath, brush and blowdry, a Pet-icure and a relaxing half-hour massage.  While your pooch is being pampered, you will be relaxing at the Loyalist Spa enjoying a manicure and pedicure, followed by lunch in Club 213.  You will wrap up your special day snuggled in your hand-made fleece sheets donated by L&D Fabrics while your pooch snores up a storm in his new fleece-line doggy bed.

Proceeds from the event will support Student Bursaries in the Endowment Fund.  Last year, $2,580 was raised and matched through the Ontario Trust for Student Support (OTSS) program.

The event is open to the community and Connie Millar, Manager of Employment and Alumni Services says, “We want to extend a welcome to the Belleville community to join us and take advantage of the great buys and live auction.  It’s always a lot of fun.”
