LOYALIST COLLEGE PHOTOJOURNALISM GRADUATES AND STUDENTS RECEIVE NATIONAL PICTURES OF THE YEAR AWARDS

Belleville, Ontario, May 30, 2017 – Loyalist College is pleased to announce that 17 Photojournalism alumni and students received National Pictures of the Year (NPOY) awards and recognition from the News Photographers Association of Canada (NPAC) on May 6 in Toronto. 

“We are proud of the success of our graduates, both recent and not-so-recent, in our 30th year,” said Professor Frank O’Connor, Coordinator of Loyalist’s Photojournalism program. “Our grads continue to provide that essential public service of storytelling and informing that is more important now in this world than ever before. Their collective and individual successes in the 2016 NPAC Pictures of the Year demonstrate that so strongly.”

More than 2,000 photographs and 22 multimedia productions from across Canada were submitted to the 10th annual NPOY awards competition. Loyalist was well represented by:
