LOYALIST COLLEGE PRACTICAL NURSING GRADUATES ACHIEVE 100% SUCCESS

December 04, 2018

Belleville, Ontario, December 4, 2018 – Loyalist College Practical Nursing graduates who wrote the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination (CPNRE) between July and October were 100 percent successful.

“We are very proud of the accomplishments of our Practical Nursing graduates and of the commitment of our caring faculty members who prepared them so well for this challenging exam,” said June MacDonald-Jenkins, Dean of Health, Human and Justice Studies at Loyalist College. “Our Practical Nursing students benefit from personalized instruction and real-world methodology taught in our clinical and interprofessional simulation labs, followed by a rigorous eight-week integrated clinical practicum where they exhibit all aspects of RPN care.”

The registration exam must be taken in order for a nurse to practise in Ontario. All 30 Loyalist candidates scored at or above the provincial and national averages in each category assessed.

Over the course of their two-year Ontario College Diploma program, Practical Nursing students are routinely tested. They take a four-hour comprehensive mock-exam, consisting of 200 multiple choice questions, which mimics the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination.

Loyalist is now accepting January and September intake applications for its Practical Nursing program. For more information, visit loyalistcollege.com.
