Belleville, Ontario, March 7, 2017 – Loyalist College is pleased to announce that Radio – Broadcasting student Andrew Mauro is the 2017 recipient of the Michael Monty Scholarship Award from the Ontario Association of Broadcasters (OAB).

This OAB Scholarship is awarded annually to a student who exhibits strong academic performance and is actively involved in the community as a volunteer with student groups or organizations.

During his first year in the Radio – Broadcasting program, Andrew was elected Student Representative by his class and volunteered at Loyalist College Open Houses, touring prospective students through the on-campus radio stations. In the summer, he worked at the College radio station CLJX-FM and was a regular host of the morning show. Currently in his second year, Andrew volunteers as a sports broadcaster at Loyalist Lancer games and was elected to the position of President of the Board of Directors at Loyalist Radio Inc.
