January 24, 2017

Belleville, Ontario, January 24, 2017 – Loyalist College has received approval from Health Canada for a Controlled Drugs and Substances Licence for the purpose of research and analysis using medical cannabis. The College’s Supercritical CO2 Extraction Applied Research Laboratory, under the direction of Biosciences Professor, Dr. Kari Kramp, will be the site of future cannabis testing, using innovative green technologies to extract and evaluate the medically significant components of the cannabis plant. Increased R&D in this area is timely and essential moving forward.”
