Loyalist College Receives Funding for Ontario Basic Skills Training

October 11, 2007

A $70,300 Grant from the Ontario Basic Skills program will allow Loyalist College to enhance existing services and allow for additional enrolment in the programs.

Dean Tom Malloy explains that, “the funds will allow for increased enrolment of up to 68 additional students in these programs in Belleville. It will also provide enhanced services in North Hastings, Trenton, and Picton.”

The Ontario Basic Skills program is a continuous intake program which allows individuals to increase their educational level and achieve the Academic and Career Entrance certification allowing graduates direct entry to many post-secondary diploma, certificate or apprenticeship programs at the college level.
