LOYALIST COLLEGE SIGNS PATHWAY AGREEMENT WITH QUEEN’S UNIVERSITY

April 06, 2018

Belleville, Ontario, April 6, 2018 – Loyalist College and Queen’s University have signed a pathway agreement which provides graduates of the College’s Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees Certificate program with the opportunity to pursue a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) Degree at Queen’s University through online learning.

“Loyalist is committed to ensuring that students and graduates have the opportunity to pursue diploma and degree pathways, while on a personal journey to their career destination,” said Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan, Loyalist College President and CEO.  “Building on our more than 70 university transfer agreements, we are particularly pleased to announce a pathway to Queen’s, our nearest university partner. It allows students to start at Loyalist with a Pre-Health Sciences Certificate and finish with a degree from Queen’s through flexible online studies from home.”

Loyalist offers two Pre-Health Sciences Pathway programs which prepare students for various academic transitions. The Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees program is designed for students planning to enter a three-year advanced diploma program or four-year degree program. The Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas program is for students intending to enter a two-year diploma program, including Practical Nursing, Paramedic and other two-year health diploma programs.

“This pathway agreement is an example of our commitment to collaboration and innovation within the higher education system,” said Daniel Woolf, Principal of Queen’s University. “We are simplifying the process for qualified students who are seeking a high-quality education in the health field, while also delivering that education in a way that is flexible and forward-looking. We look forward to welcoming these students and helping them begin their rewarding careers in healthcare.”
