The doors of Loyalist College will open wide on Saturday, April 19 from 11:00 until 2:00 to welcome prospective students and members of the community to the annual Spring Open House. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the campus and interact with students and staff. Guests are encouraged to enter the Spring Open House Draw. Winners will receive $2,000 to be applied toward their 2008/2009 first-year tuition at the College.
Loyalist offers over 50 career-oriented post-secondary programs, many of which are offered on a part-time basis. “Applications are still being accepted for this September and if you are curious about the programs and facilities offered at Loyalist, we encourage you to stop by the Open House,” said Jeff Macnab, Registrar. “We’d love to show you the many reasons that students are choosing Loyalist including great program selection, experienced professors, a comprehensive student success program, and a vibrant residence community. Faculty and students will be available to answer any of your program-related questions.”
While enrolled at the College, students have access to a full range of support services including career services, counselling, financial assistance, disability services, athletics and student success. Representatives will be available to introduce these services and provide guidance to prospective students. In addition, campus and residence tours will be offered beginning at 11:00 and will continue throughout the event.
An interactive College Survival Workshop for parents and students will be held at 12:00 noon and 1:00 to help prepare participants for a successful and fun college experience. Out-of-town guests will have the opportunity to have a guided tour of the City of Belleville from a student’s perspective. The tours will depart from the main entrance of the Kente Building at 11:00, 12:00 noon and 1:00.
