Loyalist College Student Leaders Recognized at Awards Luncheon

The second annual Student Leadership Recognition ceremony was held recently at Loyalist College to recognize student leaders through the presentation of the Pollitt Awards. The awards are named in honour of Fred Pollitt, in recognition of the leadership he has provided to the student body during his 14 years as Director of Student Life at the College.

At the ceremony Jessica Bourque, Student Government President, made a special presentation to Mary Jane Breault, Residence Coordinator, who is retiring after over 20 years at Loyalist College. The Student Government wanted to recognize and thank her for her dedication and commitment to Loyalist students, in particular those living in residence.

“The awards program provides special and very well-deserved recognition to students who provide leadership in a number of important areas,” said College President, Maureen Piercy. “These students gain excellent experience, and initiate many programs and services which benefit their fellow students and our communities. We are very proud to celebrate their contributions to the great quality of life at Loyalist.”
