LOYALIST COLLEGE STUDENTS RECOGNIZED AT UNDERGRADUATE AWARDS CEREMONY, NOVEMBER 19

November 29, 2018

Belleville, Ontario, November 29, 2018 – Loyalist College presented 263 students with 298 awards with a total value of $168,450 during its annual Undergraduate Awards Ceremony on November 19.

Many of the awards were provided by donors through The Loyalist College Foundation, which was established in 1995 to provide leadership in meeting the goals for long-term development and fundraising to benefit Loyalist students and programs. Other funds were donated by individuals, businesses and community organizations.

Recipients were congratulated by Board of Governors Chair Bob Forder, Loyalist College President & CEO Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan, Loyalist Foundation Chair Susan Scarborough, and Vice-Chair Margaret Werkhoven.

Additional awards are presented annually at a spring ceremony and during Convocation in June.

 New Awards/Bursaries

Embracing Success Award

Sponsored by Community Living Quinte West, two new awards of $1,000 each were presented to returning Developmental Services Worker students who have overcome challenges or obstacles in life.

Developmental Services Network – Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge Award

Sponsored by Community Living Trent Highlands, one award of $250 was presented to a returning Developmental Services Worker student who is in good academic standing, consistently demonstrates a passion and dedication to inclusion, and is a champion of advocating for others.

Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries Skilled Trades Bursary

Sponsored by the Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries (OCNI), two bursaries of $1,000 each were awarded to Indigenous Skilled Trades students.
