LOYALIST COLLEGE TO OFFER BUSINESS DEGREE ON CAMPUS

January 24, 2020

Belleville, Ontario, January 24, 2020 – Loyalist College has signed a transfer agreement with Seneca to offer successful students and graduates of Loyalist’s two-year Business Ontario College diploma program the opportunity to enter third year (fifth semester) of Seneca’s Honours Bachelor of Commerce – Business Management program and complete their degree on campus in Belleville.

“We are proud to partner with Seneca to allow Loyalist Business students to remain in the Bay of Quinte region while they build on their diploma with a Seneca Business degree,” said Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan, Loyalist College President & CEO. “In 2019, the Ontario College Application Service released the results of its Applicant Experience Survey which indicated that 78 percent of Loyalist College students hoped to use their College experience as a pathway to a university program. Loyalist is committed to creating exceptional pathways, such as this, which will allow our graduates to stay here and earn a combination of credentials that will enable them to make an immediate impact on our local economy.”

Those who have graduated from Loyalist’s Business diploma program, within the last five years, may be eligible to apply for Seneca’s Honours Bachelor of Commerce – Business Management degree program. For more information about Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR), please contact pathways@loyalistcollege.com.

“We are delighted to partner with Loyalist College to open up new pathways of collaboration for students at both institutions,” said Seneca President David Agnew. “It’s a great opportunity for Loyalist students to pursue their Honours Bachelor of Commerce through livestreaming courses from Seneca while not having to leave their communities to achieve their goals. Those enrolled in the program will enjoy all of the benefits of being a Seneca student and gain from the technology and resources at both campus locations. We look forward to further developing diploma to degree pathways with Loyalist.”

Loyalist’s Business Administration program explores a broad mix of business options including social media marketing, financial decision making and supply chain management, effective workplace presentation skills, corporate responsibility and sustainability, and developing a comprehensive business plan for the student’s business idea. Students are supported by faculty mentors and business coaches. The College is accepting applications for September. Visit ontariocolleges.ca to apply.
