Loyalist Hosts Annual Science Fair

April 04, 2011

The College was proud to host the 52nd Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair on April 2nd. The Science Fair began in Belleville in 1960 and provides the opportunity for young scientists to present their research. This year there were almost 200 participants with 150 projects.

Loyalist Bioscience Professor, Wallace Rendell, was one of the judges at the Science Fair. This is the seventh year that he has acted in this role. "A solid understanding of science is at the heart of humanity’s future. We need to encourage students to explore these fields, not only in the younger grades, but throughout high school as well. Our future lies with these young scientists. We need to get them interested and involved at an early age, and help them to pursue these interests throughout high school."
