Loyalist was the proud host of the Living Green in Quinte Show and Expo on Saturday, April 9th. John McMahon, Vice-President Academic, brought greetings from the College. Over 50 businesses and organizations promoting green products and services were showcased. A series of family friendly workshops and demonstrations were included in the show. One of the workshops was a garden session entitled Community & Backyard Food Garden Design & Creation, which was presented by David Riley. The session involved the creation of a sheet mulch garden — the first step in the planting of a native plant garden that will be taken care of by the Centre’s children, staff and parents.
