Loyalist Jams for Cans

April 05, 2010

Loyalist Jams for CansLast night the Loyalist community came together for a great evening’s entertainment in support of the Gleaners Food Bank. For a small fee and a non-perishable food item, those attending enjoyed a great night of acoustic music performed by Loyalist musicians.

Scott Haines was one of the Public Relations students who organized the event. “I think that some of the people came to enjoy themselves and listen to good music. I’m sure others were motivated to attend because it was a fundraiser for the Gleaners Food Bank which is great because they help so many people in the community.”

“Events like this definitely give you the opportunity to meet people,” said Jennifer Bowman, Journalism – Online, Print and Broadcast student. “The music and seeing people I know were definitely my favorite parts of the evening.”

Loyalist Jams for CansGarrett Coles, a Radio Broadcasting student who lives in the College residence attended the event also. “I like acoustic music and the fact that I could help the community at the same time was definitely a bonus.”
