Loyalist Open House Great Success

April 24, 2008

Over 800 guests took advantage of the beautiful sunny day and came to explore the campus to discover all that Loyalist has to offer. Soon-to-graduate high school students and their parents took campus tours and attended the workshops for incoming students and their parents.

Not all of the Open House guests will be graduating from high school this spring. Catherine Cupit is retiring from CFB Trenton after 17 years as an Avionics Technician and will enter the Business Administration program in September. “I’ve been thinking about this for some time now,” she said. “I did several skills tests and each time business administration came out on top. This was a real confidence booster and confirmed that I am making the right decision. I’ve always been a believer in life-long learning and feel much more focused now than I did when I graduated from high school. I’m a little nervous, but I also know that this will be a good thing for me. I’ve enjoyed my military career immensely but feel that I am now ready for a change."

Catherine Cupit will return to school this September to prepare for a career change into Business Administration.
