Loyalist College is pleased to invite members of the public to attend the 12th Annual Junior Iron Chef Competition on Saturday, February 16. Organized by Loyalist Culinary Management students, the competition between area high schools enables aspiring chefs to showcase their knowledge and skills in the kitchen. With the help of sponsorship by Ontario Pork Producers and Trent Valley Distributors, the competition will reward the winning secondary school with culinary funding and equipment.
Competing for the title of Junior Iron Chef are teams from St. Theresa Catholic Secondary School in Belleville and St. Peter Catholic Secondary School in Peterborough. Both teams have been perfecting their unique three-course meal since the preliminary competition in September. Their menus, which cannot exceed $65, were praised in the semi-final round.
The 5th Annual Food and Beverage Show will feature food demonstrations and samples from Club 213, the Loyalist Market, and The Spa at Loyalist, as well as a restaurant and wineries from the Bay of Quinte Region.
