The Spring and Summer 2011 FOCUS calendar will be distributed to area homes this week.  FOCUS outlines a wide range of learning opportunities offered through Continuing Education at Loyalist College. Over 800 part time, evening and distance education courses, certificate and diploma programs, and short workshops are available. These options are being offered at Loyalist’s Belleville and Bancroft campuses, seven other locations throughout the Quinte area and online. In-class start dates range from April to July. Most distance courses have monthly intakes, with many starting on May 13th.

Registration begins on Friday, April 8th by web, mail, fax and phone – or in person at the College. Online registration at loyalistfocus.com is convenient and easy, and provides immediate confirmation.

Some of the new courses scheduled for this spring include: Green Design for Home and Business, Home Buying Within Your Budget, Swing Dancing, Basic Harmonica – Cross Harp, Sustainable Fundraiser, and Colour 101. A wide range of certificate and diploma programs is available in areas such as Graphic Design, Accounting Techniques, Food Service Worker and Veterinary Office Administration. There are also apprenticeship opportunities in Early Childhood Education and Developmental Services Worker.

Offerings throughout the summer months include Summer Arts courses for adult beginners, hobbyists and seasoned artists – and Serious Summer Fun Camps for Kids and Teens with exciting new additions such as Graffiti Art and Be Your Own Super Hero.
