More Students Choose Loyalist College

September 17, 2007

Enrolment at Loyalist College has increased by 8.6% overall, as compared to last year’s level.  The total full-time registration has increased by 226 students, bringing full-time registration to 2,853.  In addition, 300 part-time students have registered.

“While it is too early in the academic term to have an exact figure, these numbers are very promising,” said George Burton, Vice-President Enrolment Management and Student Services.  “Although preliminary, the numbers show solid growth in both first year and returning students.”

President Maureen Piercy acknowledged the work of all staff and program teams in keeping Loyalist programs innovative and relevant.

“I’m very pleased with this year’s enrolment results,” she said. “We’re always working to enhance our focus on student access and opportunity through new programming and enhanced services to support student success.  Loyalist’s greatest strength is our people.  Our learners deserve the very best in programs and services, and that’s what our faculty and staff deliver each and every day.  We pride ourselves on offering outstanding programs through flexible delivery models which allow individuals to make choices about what and when they can study.  We know that innovation and flexibility are absolutely key for today’s learners.”

Continuing Education enrolment appears to be solid as well, with registrations ongoing throughout September.
