New Vice-President Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer Appointed for Loyalist College
Loyalist College President Maureen Piercy is very pleased to announce the appointment of Allan Ross as the College’s Vice-President Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer, effective January 2008. Mr. Ross will succeed Vice-President John Rigsby, who will retire from this position on December 31, 2007.
Allan comes to Loyalist from his role as Commissioner of Finance and Treasurer for the City of Brampton. He has also served in progressively senior municipal financial roles in Hamilton, Burlington, Oshawa and Mississauga.
He holds undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, and is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). During his tenure with the City of Brampton, Allan was responsible for implementing comprehensive long term financial planning at the City, and for recommending policies to City Council for the stewardship, investment and use of funds from the privatization/sale of Brampton Hydro for priority community projects. In 2004 he was the recipient of the Excellence in Municipal Finance award from his colleagues in the Municipal Finance Officers Association of Ontario.
Allan and his wife Patrice are parents to five grown sons, and look forward to relocating to the Quinte area.
"I was born and raised in small communities, and look forward to the opportunity to provide financial leadership to Loyalist, which is so integrated with, and integral to, the Quinte region and all of its communities," said Allan.
"Allan’s extensive skill and experience in public sector finance, strategic planning, intergovernmental relations, public-private partnerships, and public sector leadership will be very valuable assets to Loyalist College as we move forward. I look forward to welcoming Allan to the College’s senior leadership team and to our communities," said President Piercy.
