OCAA Women

February 28, 2011

Loyalist College was proud to host the 2011 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Women’s Volleyball Provincial Championships from February 24th to 26th. Ontario’s top eight teams competed for the championship title.

Stands full of cheering Lancer fans urged the team to victory against Cambrian, qualifying Loyalist for the bronze-medal semi final where they met defeat against the Mohawk Mountaineers. Three members of the Loyalist team were named OCAA East Division volleyball all-stars. Brittany Gray was named to the first team. Leighann Bishop and Leanne Jeffs were named to the second team.

The Humber Hawks successfully defended their OCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship title for the fourth consecutive year and will advance to the National Championship in Saint John, New Brunswick in March. The Nipissing Lakers won silver and the bronze medal went to the Fanshawe Falcons.
