Open House a Great Success

The College’s Fall Open House was a great success. Loyalist students, staff and faculty were proud to showcase the campus and its 60 plus career-focused programs to guests from across the province. Visitors had the opportunity to explore the campus and take part in the interactive exhibits which included a simulated welding exercise. Culinary students served tasty treats – Esthetics and Spa Management students gave pampering manicures.

Elijah Crothers, a grade twelve student from Campbellford District High School, was visiting Loyalist for the first time. “The College has a very friendly atmosphere – not intimidating at all. Coming to the Open House was a good idea. It’s given me the opportunity to talk to the faculty and students and get a better idea of what college is all about. It was definitely worth the trip.”

“The Open House gives students the opportunity to see the wide range of program choices that are here,” said Kelsey Kring from Moira Secondary School. “I’m interested in Practical Nursing and today I was able to talk directly to the program faculty. I believe that this is a really good program and I’m glad that it is offered at Loyalist. It would be very beneficial for me to go to college in Belleville, both financially – and because I would be close to family and friends.”
