The annual PRISM recognition
awards luncheon for the post-graduate Public Relations (PR) students was held
at Occasions by the Bay on March 21. Loyalist College President Maureen Piercy
welcomed guests and congratulated the students on their year’s accomplishments.
“You have raised more than $30,000
for community projects, an all-time record, and made a significant impact on
the direction of at least a dozen local businesses and organizations through
client projects,” said President Piercy. “ Your student internships will be
taking place from Halifax to Kansas to Ottawa and Toronto, and many places in
between. Several of these internships are being provided by past graduates of
the PR program which reflects the strength of mentorship by alumni. The success
of the fundraising aspect of the PR program has inspired a brand new program to
be launched this fall – the post-graduate Fundraising and Development program.
Congratulations on your successful year.”
Ten PRISM awards were presented
and Ryan Dickison gave the Valedictorian Address.
